The Ho-Am Art Museum was launched in 1982 with the collection of fine art pieces amassed throughout the life of Hoam Lee Byeong-Cheol, the founder of Samsung Group. Mr. Lee himself donated a total of 1,200 art pieces while the museum is home to 15,000 art pieces that range from the prehistoric age to modern times including one hundred items that are as valuable as national treasures. It features a Buddhist Art Hall on the 1st floor and a Painting & Writing Hall, a Cheongja Hall, a Buncheong Sagi Hall and a Baekja Hall on the 2nd floor. This museum is highly recommended to those who are interested

in ancient Korean and oriental art and culture. After touring the museum, visitors can view the beautiful lake and Ho-Am Pavilion over tea at the teahouse. The museum is located across from the west gate of Everland.

 

Hee Won Korean Garden

Hee Won Korean Garden features a traditional Korean garden and Bourdelle garden growing on 66,116m². A total of 450 fine stone items such as a gorgeous Ggotdam (fence full of flowers), a Silla stone pagoda and Buddha statues as well as fascinating plants such as apricots, orchids, chrysanthemum and bamboo are some of the wonder ful attractions. The Bourdelle garden is a French garden that features large pieces of Bourdelle that blend with the traditional Korean garden, Hee Won Korean Garden.

In early April, in particular, the cherry blossoms draw visitors with their frothy blooms.
