The 3rd Tunnel

Description
The tunnel, first discovered in 1978, was built by North Korea to infiltrate into the south. It is 2m in width, 2m in height, and 1,635m in length. It is located at about 435m north from the South Limit. The tunnel, if used by armed forces, would allow about 10,000 soldiers to infiltrate into the south within one hour. Civilians need to get a prior permission from the military for a tour. You can contact the Imjingak Office of the Korea Veterans Association at 031-954-0303 or 0640 for permission. Foreigners can visit only as part of a group tour.
