Where two waters cross and parted lovers get back together, Doomulmeori

A story in the picturesque landscape.

Your feelings may change as the seasons change.  As the year passes by waiting for another to return, people enter and leave our lives.  People miss those who have gone as encounters and separations repeatedly intertwine.

Now let’s go to the place where two waters cross.

You may bump into someone you have been missing.

Yangsuri Doomulmeori was named thus since Namhangang rising from Geomryongso, Kangwondo Keumdaebong and Bookhangang, originating from Keumgangsan, completes the Hangang (river).  It is one of the three masterpieces in Yangpyeonggoon.  Doomulmeori, which played the role of ferry stage back in ancient days, thrived because it was the last stop connecting Kangwondo Jeongsun, Choongbook Danyang, Seoul Ddookseom and Maponaru.  But the construction of Paldang Dam and an overland route in 1973 weakened its function while the authorization of greenbelt status prohibited fishing and shipbuilding which in turn led to the demise of the ferry.

Where the mist of dawn flows

The fog at dawn is beyond compare in Doomulmeori.  A mystical panorama blankets everything on a clear day of spring or fall when the range of temperature between day and night is great.  400 year old zelkova trees are surrounded by Doomulmeori.

A wooden bench underneath a zelkova tree is a congenial place for meditation.  Due to its allure, not only does the filming of movies, dramas and CF flourish but people dating and exercising inundate the area due to its admirable walking course across the wide fields and by the river.
