I’ve been to Wawoo-Temple, someplace quiet, exotic and unique, in thinking of enjoying the end of summer.
Wawoo-Temple
The large conspicuous head of Buddha behind the pond at the entrance was quite a sight.
The highlight of my sole travels to the temple is reading.
I was able to see unique forms of towers built with stones from countries all over.
I can’t leave here without seeing the largest wooden ‘wabul’ in the world listed on the Guinness Book of Records, made of aromatic trees from Indonesia.
It was strange feeling seeing a Buddhist statue lying down for the first time.
Listening to the sound of the stream on the large rock, organizing my thoughts and reading books; there shall be no other mountain wizards like me.
Traveling with your family, lover and friend is, of course, fun.
However, one needs to leave on a journey alone, sometimes.
What need is there to emphasize on the necessity of meditation?
You, jumping up and down with frustration and a clogged-up head!
Leave! To Wawoo-Temple!

Description
This is where people experience both pleasure and sadness because they can see North Korean villages with the naked eye. This was the only place from which to see North Korea before exchanges between the North and South were allowed. After the observatory was built, about 200,000 people visited the place each year. A large Christmas tree is set up here during Christmas and a Buddhist mass is held on the Buddha's birthday under the theme of unification. The scenery here is very beautiful.
Transportation
Bus: Take the Gunha-ri bound bus from Suwon and Sinchon Bus Terminal and take a taxi (10 minutes). Car: Take the road #48 to pass Masong and turn right at Gunha-ri to go straight for 10 minutes.

Waujeongsa Temple
Description Built in 1970, the temple holds the world's largest wooden statue of a Buddha in a lying down position. Made out of a single juniper tree, the statue stands 3m tall and 12m long. The figure of the Buddha head, the largest of its kind in the world, is another of the temple's attractions. The temple is also famous for the Brass Buddha that was made over a 10-year period, the 12-ton Unification Bell, the Ascetic Buddha made of white precious stone, and the Unification Stone-Tower which was built by piling up stones collected from Buddhist sacred grounds across the world. Transportation Bus: Take a Bus for Unhak-ri (available every 2 hours) or for Wonsam (available 8 times per day) at Yongin Bus Terminal. Car: Exit from the Yeongdong Expressway at the Yongin IC. Take local route #304 in the direction of Wonsam-myeon.
