Medical Care

Clinics are run by medical specialists, and general hospitals offer a wide range of medical treatment. Some clinics are near residential neighborhoods for convenient access. Their specialties include pediatrics, internal medicine, and orthopedics. Patients flock to clinics with the latest medical facilities, so it would be a good idea to make a reservation for such clinics ahead of time. Bring your health insurance card to the clinic and you will only have to pay 20~50% of the bill.

For Foreign Guests Without Health Insurance
A program is in place for foreign migrant workers who do not have health insurance. Migrant workers can pay monthly charges and receive benefits similar to health insurance. Migrant workers who would like to subscribe to this service pay an initial fee of 5,000 won, along with the first monthly charge of 6,000 won. Also bring 2 photos and a copy of your passport. Apply at the nearest Migrant Worker’s Counsel Office. The program lets you pay only 30~40% of the cost of treatment at private clinics, and you can expect a 40~50% discount for treatment at general hospitals. However, the medical assistance program for foreign workers is only available at designated hospitals. Please inquire in advance to be sure that you can get the discount.
