International boating magazines report the show with great admiration

Many influential international boating magazines admired Gyeonggi International Boat Show.

They had an interview with Gyeonggi Governer Kim Moon Su at VIP room, Jeongok Port on June 5th. The interview focused mainly on the future of Ocean Leisure Industry n Korea. Guy Nowell of Yacht Style
Hong Kong, participating in the show for wo consecutive years, commented that he elieves Gyeonggi International Boat Show as established itself as a leading Asian boat how.

He asked the Governor, since the next step s very crucial for further advance, what his isions were. The Governor replied that he ees as that a lot of effort has been put into he show since the first year to satisfy many equirements to become an international oat show and that more weight will be put nto business perspectives from next year. e explained about Jeongok Ocean Industrial omplex and “Gold Coast Project” of
West Coast of the nation.

James Boyd of IBI England asked Governor im how the attention and support ave been given to the ocean industry on a ational level. Mr. Boyd had been working a eport on ocean industry promotion policies
around the globe. Kim replied “Gyeonggi nternational Boat Show has been a turning oint for relevant industry field since there as been almost no awareness regarding cean industry. Especially, the government fficials have been greatly influenced by he show, realizing the importance of ocean ndustry. They have started to work on to oosen regulations and to secure a 50 billion on budget for ocean leisure industry.” Gyeonggi International Boat Show and orld Boat Competition are leading the ovement”, he added.

The tension in the West Coast area between he two Koreas was also brought up as an ssue during the interview and the foreign eporters were curious about its effects on he boat show. Governor Kim commented hat domestic and foreign media have a tendency o exaggerate the situation and that, s they may have seen, no effect has been ade. “Jeongok Ocean Industrial Complex nd “Gold Coast Project” of West Coast will e face no obstacles”, he assured.

Is there a difference in Gyeonggi and Kyounggi?

Only difference between the two terms is in the English spelling. The name of the province was spelled “Kyonggi” in the past, but according to the Romanization, the spelling has been modified to Gyeonggi. The two different spelling are still used, but the standard spelling Gyeonggi is encouraged. It is also worth noting that “Gyeonggi Province” and “Gyeonggi-do” have the same meaning. In Korean, “do” means province, and the two variations are used interchangeably.

I am planning to visit Korea. How is the weather like in Gyeonggi-do and Korea?

Korea and Gyeonggi Province have four distinctive seasons. Spring starts in March till May and the average temperature is 5 to 20°C and a bit dry. Summer starts in June and ends in August, average temperature is 20 to 30°C; this is also the rainy season. Autumn comes in September to November and is cool with an average temperature of 5 to 20°C. Winter is cold and snowy with a temperature of -10 to 5°C.

I heard that Korea has developed in Internet IT fields and that anyone can easily access to the Internet. Where do I go to access to the Internet in Gyeonggi-do or in any other place in Korea?

Gyeonggi Province offers quick access to the Internet and basic computer access is easily found. There are also PC cafes throughout Korea where users may access to the Internet at a small charge. Internet accessible PCs are installed in city halls, county offices and other buildings which residents can use for free.

What transportation can I take to get to Gyeonggi-do from the Incheon Int'l Airport?

Easiest way to get to Gyeonggi Province from Incheon International Airport is by the Airport Limousine Bus to Suwon City, which only takes an hour and a half. If you are going by way of Seoul, the general transportation option is to use the subway by taking line No. 1 or No. 4.

How do you get your driver's License in Korea?

For First Time Driver’s License:
Getting a first time driver's license requires the following:.
- Minimum residence for a foreigner is 6 months.
- Complete the same application form as Korean citizens.
- Required documents: passport or Alien Registration Certificate / 4 photos (3x4 cm)
- Examinations are given in English, French, German, Japanese and Chinese.
- The length of the license term varies from 3 to 7 years depending on the license type (commercial or passenger).
- A physical examination is also required.
