1.7km away from Yunggeonrung, Yongjusa is Buddhist temple not in the mountain but beside road rounded with forest. Originally Galyang Temple constructed in year 854(16th year of King Munsung of Shilla Dynasty) by Yeomgeohwasang was here, it was closed down after destroyed by fire during Byungjahoran. After that

King Keongjo moved tomb of his father Prince Janghun to here, Hwasan, formed Hyunryungwaon (upgraded as Yungrung later), and formed Yongju temple as temple of tomb at the place Galyang temple was to pray for his father’s soul. It is said that a day before inauguration ceremony of temple, King Jeongjo dreamt about a
dragon ascent to heaven with holding Yeoeujoo(jewel bead) in the mouth, by that, temple is called as Yongjoo(dragon bead).
