Heart of inter-Korean Exchange
Korea is the only divided nation in the world, and Gyeonggi Province is a direct witness to this as it borders North Korea. Prior to the division of the Korean Peninsula, North Korean cities such as Jangpung and Gaeseong – where the Gaeseong Industrial Complex is currently located – were originally part of Gyeonggi Province. The province is reaching out to these former Gyeonggi regions and working to strengthen cooperation with the North in order to contribute to peace and unification while building up a mutually beneficial relationship between the two Koreas.
