Located in San 35, Geumto-dong, Sujeong-gu, the smoke-signal Station Site of Mt. Cheon-nimsan is the 2nd one of the 8 beacon mounds of the Joseong
Dynasty. This mound used to receive the
beacons starting at Eungbong in Busan and
coming through Mt. Seokseongsan in Yongin.
The beacons sent from here were supposed to
reach the fianl destination of Mt. Mokmyeoksan
(Mt.Namsan of now) in Seoul toward its 2nd peak.
As the final beacon destination in Gyeonggi Province,
this fulfilled an important role.
Mt.Chonnimsan has changed its name 3 times:
Mt. Choncheonsan to Chonchonhyeon to the current one
(or Wolcheonhyeon).

In detail, the mound is located along the low ridge, about 170m above sea level,in the eastern part of Mt.Cheonggyesan between Geumto-dong and Yetgol of Sangjeok-dong. To the west, Guksabong Peak - the highest peak of Mt.Cheonggyesan - and Manggyeongdae form a 2.7km - long section of level ground on the gentle ridge some 545m above sea level. Down to the east, you can find the Gyeongbu Expressway and the paved road connecting Geumto-dong and Yetgol of sangjeok-dong.

This house, whose gross area amounts to some 650㎡, is the original house of the Hansan Yi Clan. They say about 70 houses were around this house, among
which the Hansan Yi Clan occupied some
30 ones, forming a small village. Most of them
were destroyed or burned down during the
Korean War and restored later. Unfortunately
though, their original shapes are hard to imagine
due to the severe damage. Four of them including the original house, however, were fortunate enough to avoid
the war damage to some extent. They maintain their original shapes to this day after times of restoration.
The house located inside the Joongang Park is typical of the
rural houses of the late Joseon Dynasty in Gyeonggi Province. Here
you can find some remains of a pavilion, too. It is said that teachings
had been delivered and village seniors had gathered together until right after the liberation of Korea when it was dismantled. They also say the shape of the mountains surrounding this willage was like a turtle and some people dug a pond at the head part of the imagined turtle to enable others to drink some water here. The arrangement of the house in general is that of a typical one having been built in the mid-Korean peninsula, incorporating straightforward servants' quarters and a main room stretching in two directions from on corner.

The historic site of Manggyeongam sits in Bokjeong-dong, Sujeong- gu, where entire Seoul is seen at a glance. A sitting Yeorae is here in the carved rockbed.
Around the statue of Yeorae are no less
than 14 excellent compositions, all engraved
on leveled rock surfaces.

This is where the kings from the late Goryeo
Dyansty period to the early Joseon resided praying
for the nation's tranquility and peace. It is said that King
Sejong of the Joseon Dynasty built here the altar named
Chilseongdan to pray for his sons, Prince Pyeongwondaegun
and Jeandaegun, and the rituals were called Chilseongje. Later in 1897 during the reign of King Gojong, Yi Gyu-Seung carved a Buddha statue and built a Buddhist temple here according to an inscription in this place.

Located in Taepyeong-dong, Sujeong-gu, Bongguksa Temple was originally built in 1028 (19th year of the reign of King Hyeonjong of the Goryeo Dynasty).
Though once destroyed to the ground, it
was rebuilt in 1395 (4 th year of the reign of
King Taejo of the Joseon Dyansty). In 1673, King Hyeongjong, the ruler at the time, remodeled the
temple to pray for the repose of his two daughters
