The Ho-Am Art Museum was launched in 1982 with the collection of fine art pieces amassed throughout the life of Hoam Lee Byeong-Cheol, the founder of Samsung Group.

The Ho-Am Art Museum was launched in 1982 with the collection of fine art pieces amassed throughout the life of Hoam Lee Byeong-Cheol, the founder of Samsung Group. Mr. Lee himself donated a total of 1,200 art pieces while the museum is home to 15,000 art pieces that range from the prehistoric age to modern times including one hundred items that are as valuable as national treasures. It features a Buddhist Art Hall on the 1st floor and a Painting & Writing Hall, a Cheongja Hall, a Buncheong Sagi Hall and a Baekja Hall on the 2nd floor. This museum is highly recommended to those who are interested

in ancient Korean and oriental art and culture. After touring the museum, visitors can view the beautiful lake and Ho-Am Pavilion over tea at the teahouse. The museum is located across from the west gate of Everland.

Hee Won Korean Garden

Hee Won Korean Garden features a traditional Korean garden and Bourdelle garden growing on 66,116m². A total of 450 fine stone items such as a gorgeous Ggotdam (fence full of flowers), a Silla stone pagoda and Buddha statues as well as fascinating plants such as apricots, orchids, chrysanthemum and bamboo are some of the wonder ful attractions. The Bourdelle garden is a French garden that features large pieces of Bourdelle that blend with the traditional Korean garden, Hee Won Korean Garden.

In early April, in particular, the cherry blossoms draw visitors with their frothy blooms.

This is the only transportation museum in Korea and opened in 1998.

A cultural space, visitors can enjoy viewing a variety of automobiles from around the world here and can indirectly experience the impact of the automobile on human life. A variety of real pieces or models of means of transportation and their related parts, accessories, souvenirs and art pieces (a total of 700 items) are on display (32 rare cars, motorbikes, bicycles, wagons, etc.). Visitors can gain chronological understanding of the history of the automobile and vessels and encounter a variety of exhibitions in the Lobby Exhibition Hall, Main Exhibition Hall and Outdoor Exhibition Hall.

A Buddhism temple that was built by Haewolbeopsa (monk) in 1975 through the desire for the peaceful unification of the Korean peninsula and world peace. As a head office of the World Buddhist Cultural Exchange Association, it promotes active exchange with Buddhist organizations. As a result, many fine Buddhist statues and artifacts from around the world are displayed at this temple. Among them, the 12m long, 3m tall Mokbulsang Seokgamoni Wasang (Lying Sakyamuni Wood Statue, the world’s largest wodden Buddha statue), a Jinsinsari (true body sarira) from Sri Lank and a stone pagoda made of stones from sacred ground are the most popular for Buddhists.

Hantaek Botanical Garden offers a variety of wild plants from around the world as well as Korean wild flowers in a wildlife environment.

Approximately 9,000 species of plants grow in 35 themed gardens.

Many rare or endangered plants are grown here, giving this garden the

moniker of ‘a treasure house of wild plants.’ Spring and fall both see a
